How guests are opted in
Messages are sent by a community resident, for a guest that resident has personally invited. Consent is collected in the GateKeeper application through the following steps:
- 1A resident signs in to the GateKeeper application for their community (access is behind an authenticated login).
- 2The resident creates a guest pass for a visit and enters their invited guest’s mobile phone number.
- 3A notice beside the phone field states that, by entering the number, the resident confirms their guest expects to receive their gate pass by text and that message and data rates may apply.
- 4GateKeeper then sends that guest one text message containing a link to their gate pass. The message is transactional and tied to a specific, upcoming visit.
What the resident sees in the app
By entering a mobile number, you confirm your guest is expecting their gate pass by text. One message is sent per visit. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
Program terms
- Program name: GateKeeper Gate Pass Alerts, operated by Common Area LLC.
- Message type: Transactional. One message is sent per visit, at the resident’s request. We do not send recurring or promotional texts through this program.
- Message frequency: Varies — typically one message per visit.

- Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to cancel. After you send STOP, we send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed and will send no further messages.
